*****We are looking for a Compensation specialist to join us for the next year to cover a maternity leave we currently have in our HR department. *****


- Maintain integrity of philosophy to ensure adherence to business/HR strategy
- Evaluate impact of proposed initiatives and make recommendations that align with business objectives
- Analyze internal compensation practices to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness
- Lead the market review process for new jobs, as required
- Analyze various salary surveys, maintain salary policies and administrative procedures
- Conduct the job evaluation process by analyzing new position descriptions and determine/recommend compensation using market data through competitive market pricing/benchmarking while supporting our company philosophy
- Work closely with payroll to coordinate retrieval and reporting functions
- Maintain and develop the compensation reviews, validate job documentation to ensure it is complete and appropriate reporting functions with respect to compensation
- Participate in annual Quebec and Ontario pay equity requirements as necessary

- Maintain relationships with vendors of product offerings, as required
- Administer changes in policy and/or program
- Provide effective and timely communication to the organization
- Re-enrolment each year including new enrolment guides
- Work with benefit providers to review enrolment requirements (system and practice) and change as required
- Provide ongoing support to internal customers (employee, manager and team) on all benefit related queries
- Administer the Group Employee Benefits and Group Retirement Savings Plan and answer any related employee inquiries

- Maintain relationship with provider alongside the payroll department
- Coordinate with IT to ensure system is updated with accurate documents
- Work closely with provider to ensure system functioning
- Assist with employee communications regarding system changes and improvements
- Oversee, maintain and optimize the maintenance of the Human Resources Information Management System (HRIS tracking, reporting, analysis)

Performance Management
- Work closely with manager, payroll and benefits to provide reports on merit increases
- Work with Human Resources Business Partner to support the data gathering process for fiscal year end activities
- Support organizational Continuous Development program by providing guidance and support on the program
- Liaise with pre-existing tool to ensure all data is captured and access is managed

Other Duties/Projects
- As assigned by management

- A university degree or college diploma in human resources or related field (CHRP and/or CCP designation an asset)
- 3+ years experience in an HR and compensation and Intermediate Excel skills required
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Attention to detail and accuracy is a must
- A team player with a proven problem solving ability, ability to multitask, works well under pressure, adapts well to change
- Effective time management/prioritization skills
- Detail oriented, strong analytical skills and the ability to work self-managed or collaboratively as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment and decision making skills when faced with conflict situations or sensitive employee relations matters
- Excellent relationship building skills, interpersonal
- Ability to handle highly confidential information
